Driven into extinction - Tulbaghia comminsii

These photos show the total destruction of the only known population of Tulbaghia comminsii. This happened despite my report to the Custodians of Rare and Endangered Wildflowers (CREW) some time ago which should, according to the objectives of CREW, have alerted the authorities to the importance of this site. It has happened despite Tony Dold having taken the surveyor to the site and pointed it out to him before work started.
Other valuable populations of plants destroyed here are Massonia echinata, Brachystelma meyerianum, Haworthia cooperi and Nerine filifolia.
IT IS NOW IMPERATIVE THAT CREW FILE A CRIMINAL CASE AGAINST THE ROADS DEPARTMENT FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF PROTECTED FLORA.
We cannot any longer tolerate this kind of destruction of our threatened plants. There is no other population of Tulbaghia cominsii currently known - maybe it is now extinct in the wild.
